Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been won on hard courts

A resurgent the Russian player claimed his maiden title for over two years with victory over opponent Moutet in the tournament final.

The athlete, a former world number one, has experienced a torrid period, winning just a single victory at the Grand Slams and suffering a difficult moment at the US Open.

His unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his service game in specific - resulted in him exiting of the top ten and ultimately splitting with former trainer his previous coach.

Presently working with his coach and Goetzke, Medvedev has gradually progressed in the past month - culminating in a hard-fought competitive triumph over challenger Moutet.

It is his first championship following the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard surface since March of that year.

Victory also indicates he has achieved twenty-one victories at 21 different tournaments.

"It's the first time I have attended a competition with my two daughters together, so to secure a championship is really nice," said tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.

"This championship is in honour of my younger daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I won when my first daughter my daughter was born was for her."

Medvedev, the past champion, had lost his past six championship matches, featuring in Halle earlier this year.

The player's defensive play style and frequent reactions on the tennis court had caused observers to question if his ability to play at the highest level was finished.

But the 29-year-old has made changes in the last few weeks, making an effort to advance forward and compete assertively, supported by an enhanced service.

Medvedev recovered from a disadvantage in the opening set against the difficult Moutet, winning four of the final five points to go ahead.

The competitors exchanged service breaks in the middle set before Moutet, striving for his maiden professional title, gained dominance to create a decider.

He defended 4 early break points in a competitive final set before the champion secured a break to fifteen to secure the win.

Suitably, he clinched the title with a point at the net area, with his opponent failing to manage a volley after a lengthy match.
