Three people have been killed and at least nine others were injured in the newest assault from Ukraine on the Russian frontier area of Belgorod, as stated by local officials.

The fatalities occurred subsequent to an assault on the Maslova Pristan settlement during Wednesday morning, sources confirmed. First responders were continuing to search for people suspected to be buried under debris.

For the third day in a row that Ukraine has targeted the region, leaving thousands of people without power and at least two other people fatally injured.

Wave of Assaults Result in Destruction

The Wednesday wave of aerial assaults damaged homes, automobiles and electrical infrastructure in numerous regions of Belgorod, per information from official statements.

Sources published photographs from Maslova Pristan showing a sports centre with its building components destroyed, and said that rescue workers were removing wreckage and assessing the damage.

In the nearby town of Moshchenoye, six people - comprising a minor - sustained injuries when missile and drone struck a truck, while a person got injured when a car was hit in Masychevo.

Energy Disruptions Affect Thousands

The strikes follow multiple days of identical assaults that have caused blackouts and building harm in urban Belgorod and adjacent territories.

Close to 40K individuals were influenced by energy disruptions across multiple districts, as reported by government sources.

Larger Picture of Warfare

Ukrainian forces have significantly escalated the number of attacks targeting Russia's fuel processing facilities in the last several months, leading to gasoline scarcities and expense hikes in certain Russian regions.

No fewer than twenty-one of Russia's 38 major refineries - where crude oil is converted into practical energy sources like gasoline and diesel fuel - have been hit since January, significantly more than as during the whole of 2024.

Continuing Conflict

Meanwhile, Russian attacks on Ukraine are continuing. Ukrainian aerial defenses stated during midweek its defences shot down or took out 154 aerial vehicles, but 22 struck targets in numerous areas.
